Who is it for?

Those who move objects or people as part of their work. Those who wish to learn techniques for the avoidance of injury resulting from incorrect lifting techniques. Those who wish to understand how to lower the risk of work related back injuries.

Course content


• Moving and handling

• Understanding your back, anatomy & physiology

• Fit to move: an introduction to ergonomics and the biomechanics of movement

• Manual handling and the law, your duty of care

• Assessing the risk, a basic guide

Pre-requisites

None, but must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course contents.

Qualification

Certificate of attendance.
