First Aid Training Leeds -  First Aid at Work Re-qualification (HSE) - 2 day course
The course is suitable for all companies, particularly those with a large number of staff or working in a high risk environment.
This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this two day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which re-qualification becomes necessary.

First Aid at Work Re-qualification (HSE)

2 day course

Who is it for?

This course is for holders of the First aid at Work Certificate (the old 4 day course) who need recertification.

Course content:

· The role of the first aider

· Assessing the situation in an emergency

· Minor conditions including minor cuts, grazes and bruises, small splinters

· Contents of first aid kits, reporting and aftercare

· Causes of unconsciousness

· The Recovery Position

· Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Blood loss and shock

· Burns and scalds

· Eye injuries

· Fractures and dislocations including spinal injuries, sprains and strains

· Diabetes

· Seizures

· Asthma

· Chest pain including heart attack

· Choking

· Stroke

· Sudden poisoning

· Anaphylactic shock

Pre-requisites

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the Course Outline. Candidates must be aware that they must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

 

Candidates must hold and produce a First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification certificate, prior to the course booking being confirmed.  This can be renewed up to 3 months early with the unexpired portion being added to the new certificate.  You will be allowed a 28 day grace period for the completion of this course from the expiry date on your existing first aid qualification.


Qualification

First Aid at Work Certificate (this is an HSE certified First Aid at Work course).

Validity

Certificate is valid for three years.


This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this two day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three a year after which re-qualification is necessary.

 

It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.
