First Aid at Work (HSE) 3 day course
Who is it for?	The course is suitable for all companies, particularly those with a large number of staff or working in a high risk environment.
Course content:	Principles of first aid The role of the first aider Contents of a first aid kit Reporting & aftercare Causes of unconsciousness Recovery position and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Minor conditions including small cuts and grazes, bruises, small splinters Blood loss and shock Burns & scalds Eye injuries Fractures & dislocations, including spinal injuries Sprains & strains In addition the course will cover a practical guide to major conditions, including: Diabetes Seizures Asthma Chest pain including heart attack Choking Stroke Sudden poisoning Anaphylactic shock
Pre-requisites	Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline. Candidates must be aware that they must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Qualification	`First Aid at Work Certificate (this is an HSE certified First Aid at Work course).
Validity	Certificate is valid for three years. This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three a year after which re-qualification is necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.
