Who is it for? |
This course is for employees/persons wishing to learn basic first aid which qualifies them to act as the Appointed Person in the Workplace. This course is also suitable for those wishing to attend a general first aid course. |

· The principles of first aid · The role of the first aider · Communicating with a casualty · Contents of a first aid kit · Reporting and aftercare · The unconscious casualty and the recovery position · Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) · Minor conditions including minor cuts and bruises · Choking · Chest pain · Blood loss and shock |

Pre-requisites |
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the Course Outline. Candidates must be aware that they must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment. |

Qualification |
Emergency First Aider at Work certificate (this is a HSE certified First Aid at Work course). |

Validity
|
Certificate is valid for three years. This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this one day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which re-qualification becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher. |
