Who is it for? |
This RSPH Level 1 Award provides an introduction to the fundamentals of Health & Safety in the Workplace and is mapped to relevant elements of the National Occupational Standards for Health & Safety Knowledge Unit “HSK1” (Basic Hazard Awareness) as published (April 2007) by the Standards Setting Body “ENTO”. Whilst it will be of use to everyone, it will be of particular use for young people to raise their ability to identify and understand “Hazards” in preparation for work experience and beginning employment. |

Pre-requisites |
There are no pre-course entry requirements. |

Qualification |
The assessment will consist of one examination paper of 20 multiple choice questions to be answered in 45 minutes. To attain a pass, candidates must achieve 13 correct answers out of 20 (65%). To attain a credit, they must achieve 17 correct answers out of 20 (85%). |

Progression
|
Holders of this award may wish to progress to the RSPH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (and higher level qualifications thereafter) to acquire further knowledge and understanding related to Health & Safety and risk reduction. |
